David Vieira — About Us

Clients usually face a though decision when selecting architects. They start by questioning which architect has the right visual language for the project. This makes the design process start on the client side, before the first briefing is handled to the designers. It also puts pressure on the architect’s side: designers are forced to stick to what they usually deliver to meet clients expectations. By approaching the project with aesthetical expectations, many other options are eliminated before being explored and tested, and projects become iterations of previous designs. Uniqueness and innovation are lost.

We work in a different way. Instead of a signature design language, we believe in a signature design process. We apply the scientific method of research to the creative process. Observing, researching, theorizing, and testing until the outcome is embedded with the values we believe make great architecture: places that trigger surprise, positiveness, wellness, balance, and connection with the planet. Only in this way we can confidently deliver unique spaces, supported by empirical knowledge, and representative of our clients needs and values.

We aim to create a new movement, powered by the belief in an optimistic future, where no solution has achieved its full potential yet and everything can be explored. At David Vieira we design unexpected places for well-being and joy.
